Greetings fellow Ninety Nines! My new job as Governor has just begun. Ever since the wonderful meeting in London last month, I have been trying to figure out exactly what is expected of me in this capacity. With a little research and fast question and answers, it seems I am the middle man, so to speak. I relate to International telling them everything you want them to know and then I relate to the chapter chairs everything headquarters want you to know. The summation is friendly communication to our chapters.

Beginning in the later part of the last century, modernization of high tech reached the limits of the sky;  emails, computer access, ease with speed was upon us in a hurry. I admit I love speed.

Sometimes high tech fails us, but there is still a backup – snail mail. Now you see the real reason I am sending this letter is to inform you, just in case our news via high tech has not reached headquarters website yet and thus, back to you,

International News

President Elaine Morrow, Minnesota Chapter

Vice President Patricia Prentiss, Orange County Chapter

Secretary Donna Moore, Women with Wings Chapter

Treasurer Susan Larson, Rio Grande Norte Chapter

Congratulations to our new board of directors. I am not listing all the other positions elected as you will see them on the website or in the 99 news.

Are you ready for Atlantic City?

July 6 – 11, 2004 International Conference

From Eastern Canada Section at least four members are planning to fly there. If you are planning to go, let’s get together after you arrive. It is a marvelous time to network and socialize. Join in the fun!

Bring with you, your thoughts and wishes. If interested you can read up on the bylaws/standing rule proposals by looking on the website in Members Only section under title Headquarters Dispatch, June 2004.

www.ninety-nines.org

Members Only section is accessible with registration to establish a userID and password. Your personal information has to match what is already on file for security reasons. Headquarters will save your userID and password in case you forget it in future.

Some information, in PDF version, requires ADOBE read file on your computer to open some documents. ADOBE is a free download which you have to access with your own computer. Go for it!

Before you find the “members only” section there is a plethora of information available to read. Give yourself an hour to look around, I find new items every time I open the website.

A few of the topics are: The women who Paved the Way, Women Making History Today, Advancing the Pilot of Tomorrow, Guidelines for Writers and Photographer for the 99 News magazine, Information guide for new members.

Did you know that the membership directory is available on CD ROM at an additional cost?  I personally like to take the directory with me on my travels, just in case I want to go flying in the local area. A 99 may live around the corner and I could call on her.

In addition to the above list of topics there is a 99s Pilot Careers Resource Centre and Catalog shopping too.

To the Chapter Chairmen, I ask you or your representative to send me information to include in my next newsletter. Also update me on your annual meetings and change of officers.

I would like to hear about new members, new ratings, events and other announcements of interest to our membership. My phone has an answering machine with a lot of space for messages. Email  margo@mcyork.com

Mailing address is in the directory.

Happy Flying Summer Days Ahead
