2007 Events

In December, Carol and Rod welcomed us to their party room for our annual Christmas potluck and gift exchange!  Thanks, Carol!  We had a 99 visitor who is attending university here in Ottawa.  Good food, company and conversation... what more could one want?

On November 10th, we gathered at the Rockcliffe Flying Club for our annual business meeting.  After enjoying pizza and chocolate chip cookies, we settled down to look at the past year's activities and finances, and to plan out the upcoming year.  We had a good exchange of ideas for meetings and fundraising opportunities - more to follow.  Thanks everyone for your suggestions and for taking on activities for the 2008 year. [See picture in our photo gallery, above]

In September, Susan, Mo and Sharron organized and flew in the successful 2007 Gold Cup Air Rally, flying between Leamington, Ontario and Boulder Colorado.  The terminus for this event was the 2007 International Convention of the 99s.  The Canadian contingent made a vivid impression on the other conference attendees!  Dorothy was elected as an International Trustee of the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In August we "manned" a 99s booth at the National Aviation Museum as part of the 2007 Classic Air Rally displays.  We offered part of our display area to the CWIA group, and got to share ideas, etc. with them.

Susan flew to Oshkosh again this year.

In July, Kathy Fox was awarded COPA's prestigious President's Award in Moncton.  ]Kathy retired from her VP Operations role at Nav Canada at the end of June.  She now works part-time at the CTSB.

May 31st - the local CWIA and our Chapter enjoyed a BBQ together at Rockcliffe CYRO.

In May, during the Wings Dinner, Kathy Fox was awarded the Rockcliffe Flying Club's President's Award for her numerous contributions.

In April, Susan hosted a business meeting during which we enjoyed munchies, wine and a Patty Wagstaff video.  We even took the opportunity to work on our question to regain current per TC rules.

In February, we had a movie night at Susan's.

In January, we gathered at Jane's new downtown condo to view the taping of Lorna's and Felicity's presentation.

June 3-4 We flew/drove to Saint John New Brunswick Section meeting, and enjoyed meeting other East Canada Section and New England Section members.
